Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praised Jones ahead of the Games, channeling Sir Matt Busby’s mantra “If they’re good enough, they’re old enough” as he explained why he picked the 19-year-old to start.
“He’s good enough and because of the situation,” said Klopp.
“We had a couple of issues and we have to make sure how we start and finish the game and all of those things. So that’s the reason. He’s good enough. That’s why he plays. ”

Klopp said he was addicting the teenager for medical advice to use Henderson sparingly and said after the game, “Curtis was tactical.
“The medical department told us that Hendo couldn’t start, he could play for almost 45 minutes.”
