For the first time in more than 20 years, tickets to the sport’s premier event – which started at $ 185 – went on sale to the general public on Tuesday morning.
The fans quickly took advantage of the unique opportunity and queued for tickets online from 9 a.m. local time.

The Ticketmaster website withstood the barrage, but with close to 10,000 tickets available that were sold out by 9:19 a.m.
AFL aficionados from Queensland are expected to dominate this year’s crowd, although those from all other states and territories except NSW and Victoria will be able to attend without quarantine.
However, those traveling from the interstate have been warned to expect a barbecue from the police at the border.
“The AFL is pleased to announce that public sales for the Toyota AFL Grand Final 2020 in Gabba are currently sold out,” said a league statement.
“Tickets on the Ticketmaster platform sold out in just under 20 minutes this morning.
“Additional tickets may become available due to unused assignments.
“The capacity of the Gabba for the Toyota AFL Grand Final 2020 is limited to 30,000.”
As reported by 7 News, several tickets to the event were later available on the classified online website Gumtree, some priced at $ 1,000 each.
“If users want to buy AFL Grand Final tickets from Gumtree, we encourage them to ask the seller about the legitimacy and terms of the tickets sold prior to purchase,” a Gumtree spokesman told 7NEWS.com.au.
“We have strict terms of use that every user must accept before being listed on Gumtree.
“This includes publishing policies where we comply with the law: whatever is forbidden to sell offline is also forbidden on Gumtree.
“With the AFL grand finals being held at the Gabba in Queensland this year, local law makes it illegal to resell tickets at a price that is more than 10 percent higher than the original ticket price.”
In the meantime, world tennis No. 1, Ash Barty, will present the Tigers with the Premiership Cup if they are successful on Saturday night.
