The last semi-finalist of the bett1HULKS in Cologne has been determined. Roberto Bautista Agut beat Hubert Hurkacz 7: 6 (4), 5: 7, 6: 0 in the last match of the day.

The last quarter-finals in Cologne’s Lanxess-Arena once again promised a sporty treat. Number two on the seeding list against number six, the 13th in the world against 31. As a result, the 23-year-old found his game better and better, but a highly concentrated Bautista Agut often found good answers. At 5: 4 Hurkacz put his foot in the door again and earned the rebreak with a soulful stop and a good overview. In the tie-break, a double mistake by Poland brought the only mini-break and so the first set went 7: 6 (4) to the world number 13.
RBA with match point, then “Hubi” gets going
In the second round, too, the players delivered a high-class encounter with rallies worth seeing. Without one being able to gain a notable lead, both worked their way head to head through the sentence. Hurkacz, who himself didn’t allow anything at serve for a long time, scratched the break a few times, but the RBA remained stable and fended off all possibilities. As if from nowhere, he then earned the first breakball of the set at 5: 4, which was synonymous with match point. With a strong serve, the Pole pulled his head out of the loop and grabbed the decisive break to 6: 5 in the following 15-minute endless service game. After almost two hours of play, Hurkacz put everything back to the beginning with an ace.
The answer was not long in coming: With a quick break, the Spaniard had a three-game lead for the first time in the match. Two other close service games also went to Bautista Agut – 5-0. That decided the game and after 2:29 hours, the 32-year-old turned his first match point.
Smash in the semi-finals: Auger-Aliassime is waiting
In the semifinals, Bautista Agut will face Felix Auger-Aliassime on Saturday. The number three seeding list prevailed comfortably 6: 3, 6: 0 against Radu Albot.
