Nothing could separate France and Portugal when the world champions drew 0-0 against the European champions and the champions of the Nations League on Sunday.

In a repeat of the 2016 Euro Final at the Stade de France, Manchester United teammates, Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes, played a prominent role in the clash of the Nations League in midfield on both sides.

Pogba played the full match while Fernandes lasted 80 minutes before being replaced by Renato Sanches.

Chelsea duo N’golo Kante and Olivier Giroud also started the game for France, while United striker Anthony Martial came off the bench in an even competition.

The teams had virtually equal possession and both recorded 10 shots with three hits while Manchester City duo Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva started for the visitors.

Wolves midfielder Joao Moutinho and Liverpool striker Diogo Jota came off the bench to try to break Les Bleus but Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris stood firm for the hosts.

The result leaves France and Portugal both in the UEFA Nations League Group A3 with seven points, with the latter leading the way in goal difference.

Behind the pair lies Croatia, who celebrated their first victory in the Nations League with a 2-1 win over Sweden and still have no points on the board.
