Betis defeats Valencia and leads the Spanish league

Real Betis was the only team at the top of the Spanish League by defeating its host Valencia 2-0 today, Saturday, in the fifth phase of the competition.

Real Sociedad and Villarreal shared the runner-up after the first victory over Getafe, 3-0, and Villarreal tied in a goalless way with its host Atletico Madrid.

In other matches, Eibar achieved his first victory by defeating his host Valladolid 1/2, while El Che drew with Huesca in a negative way.

At the Mestalla Stadium, Sergio Canales led Betis in the 19th minute, and Christian Tejo added the second goal in the 47th minute.

Betis raised his score at the top to nine points, one point ahead of Real Sociedad and Villarreal, compared to five points for Atletico in tenth place, seven points for Getafe in fifth place, and seven points for Valencia in sixth place.

At the Inoita Stadium, Mikel Uyarzabal advanced a goal for Sociedad from a penalty kick in the 28th minute, then Mikel Moreno and Christian Portoguez added the second and third goals in the 79th and 81st minutes.

And at the Neuvo Jose Zorrilla stadium, Esteban Burgos opened the scoring for Eibar from a penalty kick in the 29th minute, then Toni Villa Suarez equalized for Valladolid in the 37th minute.

Sergio Guardiola Navarro missed the opportunity to score for Valladolid from a penalty kick in the 48th minute.

Eibar was shocked when his player Papa Cole Diop was sent off in the 73rd minute for receiving the second warning, but the team held on to victory and decided the match in its favor in the final seconds with a goal scored by Kevin Rodriguez.

Eibar raised his score to four points, occupying the thirteenth place, while Valladolid stuck at two points in the nineteenth place before the last.
