Watford defeated Liverpool 3-0 at Vicarage Road on Saturday to hand the Reds their first defeat and end their unbeaten streak in the Premier League.

The hosts started the game on the front foot and almost broke the deadlock early in the game through Gerard Deulofeu, but his curler was off target.

After 20 minutes of play, Mohamed Salah had a chance to score for Liverpool as he struck the ball with his right foot but the angle was too tight for the 27-year-old.

Senegal international Ismaila Sarr posed a real threat for Liverpool as he went one-on-one with Alisson Becker right after the break but his shot was parried by the Brazilian goalkeeper.

Sarr was on the scene again as he opened the scoring for Watford in the 54th minute after tapping in Abdoulaye Doucoure’s low cross.

Six minutes later, the 22-year-old doubled Watford’s lead when Troy Deeney sent Sarr through on goal as he chipped Alisson Becker to complete his brace.

In the 72nd minute, Sarr capitalized on a defensive error by Liverpool as he fed Deeney for Watford’s third goal of the evening.
