Thank you for reading the news about Arteta explains why Elneny was dropped against West Ham and now with the details
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes that Mohamed Elneny should have started against West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Gunners edged West Ham in a narrow 2-1 victory as Mohamed Elneny remained on the bench for the 90 minutes.
Alexandre Lacazette opened the scoring in the first half before West Ham grabbed the equalizer through Michail Antonio as Eddie Nketiah struck late to secure all three points for Arsenal.
Speaking after the game, Arteta revealed why Elneny was dropped despite starting against Fulham a week earlier.
“Mo [Elneny] he deserved to play again today but I wanted to rotate,” Arteta said in the press conference after the game via football.london.

“It was a game that we had to attack their smaller spaces and the way they defend, to create situations with Dani [Ceballos] in there.
“We are going to try and strengthen the team until the market is done,” he added.
Arteta also talked about the club potentially signing more players before the transfer window shuts on October 5th.
“Depending on what happens with some of the other players in the squad, we are open to discuss,” he continued.
“The market can surprise us and can come for any of our players in a different position and then we have to react. Let’s see what happens.”
