Kylian Mbappe has been ruled out of France's Nations League game against World Cup runners-up Croatia on Tuesday after testing positive for Covid-19.

Mbappe, who took part in Monday evening's training session before learning the result of his test result, is the seventh Paris Saint-Germain player to contract the virus.

Neymar, Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes were the first three to test positive, all after a recent holiday on the Spanish Mediterranean island of Ibiza.

Mauro Icardi, Keylor Navas and Marquinhos were also reported as to having contracted the virus.

Attacker Mbappe scored the winner in Saturday's 1-0 win over Sweden but will now miss the rematch of the 2018 World Cup final.

"Kylian Mbappe will not participate in France versus Croatia on Tuesday evening at 20:45CET at the Stade de France," a statement from the French FA has confirmed.

"The result of his Covid-19 test carried out by UEFA on Monday morning was found to be positive. He was placed away from the group after receiving the results, at the end of training, before going back to his own home in the evening.

"Like the entire delegation, Kylian Mbappe had undergone a test prior to the games of the international break. The result was negative, like the one last Wednesday, at the request of UEFA, before Sweden against France."

PSG are due to start their delayed first game of the Ligue 1 season at Lens on Thursday, followed by Le Classique against rivals Marseille three days later.
