Dubai - Yasmine El Tohamy - Haras El-Hodood manager Mohamed Halim has said that they were shocked to hear the Egyptian Football Association’s decision to not postpone their clash against Al Masry.
Al Masry were set to take on Haras El-Hodood in their second game since the return of the Egyptian Premier League.
However, less than 24 hours before their encounter, the Port-Said side revealed that 16 members tested positive for coronavirus at the club, including 12 unnamed players.
Following Al Masry’s announcement, the Egyptian Football Association released a statement, saying that the game will not be postponed, a decision that surprised many including Haras El-Hodood manager Mohamed Halim.
“We were flabbergasted by the Egyptian Football Association’s decision to not postpone the match,” Halim told Zamalek TV.
“The players are now worried following the announcement that the game against Al Masry will be played on Monday as scheduled.”
Haras El-Hodood are currently 12th in the Egyptian Premier League table with 19 points after 17 games played.
