Cairo giants Zamalek have finalised their preparations ahead of the Egyptian Premier League resumption with a 1-1 stalemate against first division counterparts Tala’a El-Gaish on Wednesday.

Zamalek had beaten Tanta 2-1 in their third friendly less than ten days before the return of the league on Tuesday, and played with a completely different lineup against El-Gaish on Wednesday.

The game against El-Gaish was Zamalek’s fifth and final friendly game ahead of the league resumption, where they are going to recommence the Premier League action against Al Masry on the sixth of August.

Karim Tarek opened the scoring for Tala’a El-Gaish in the sixth minute of the game.

El-Gaish’s lead did not last for long as Ahmed Sayed Zizo made things level a minute later after he scored for the Whites.

Zamalek practically have a small chance in making a comeback and catching Al Ahly on the top of the table as the Reds had distanced themselves from all their chasers before the league suspension.

However, The White Knights are in contention for the CAF Champions League and are set to face Raja Casablanca in the semi-finals of the competition.
