- Yasmine El Tohamy - CAF have released a statement on Wednesday, announcing that dates for the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.

African football has been halted since March due to the coronavirus outbreak with over 871,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases across the continent.

However, with the return of football in many areas around the world, CAF announced on Wednesday that the semi-finals of both its competitions will be held in a two-legged format.

The first leg of the Champions League semi-final matches will take place on 25 and 26 September while the second leg is set to be played on 2 and 3 October respectively.

CAF also added that the venue for the final will be determined based on the teams that qualify, explaining that it could be held in Cairo should Al Ahly and Zamalek face each other in the final.

In case Wydad meet Raja, the final will be held in Morocco, and if a Moroccan team faces an Egyptian side in the final, the final will be played in a neutral ground.

On the other hand, CAF decided to hold the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final games that are decided by just one match and will be played on 22 September.

The final game will be hosted by the Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Morocco on 27 September.
