Egyptian Premier League side Pyramids FC have revealed their main transfer target for the upcoming transfer window and whether or not Al Ahly have tried signing any of their players.

After an impressive debut season where they finished in a qualifying spot for the CAF Confederation Cup.

Pyramids have had a strong second season as they currently sit third on the league table and have reached the semi-finals of their first ever continental tournament.

Now as they start planning for the 2020-2021 season, the club’s sporting director, Hani Said, talked about their potential signings.

Said revealed that they are hoping to sign Etoile du Sahel’s Algerian striker Karim Aribi, who scored six goals in the CAF Champions League this season guiding them to the quarter-finals.

“Yes, Karim Aribi is among the targets we want to sign, but there are no updates regarding negotiations as he’s just a target for now,” he told Al-Nahar TV.

“We still haven’t decided which Egypt-based players we want yet. We decided on our foreign-based targets but the situation is different when it comes to the local market.

“Abdelghany [Zamalek] and El-Sheikh [Al Ahly] are great players and a great addition to any team but we haven’t decided on a player based in Egypt,” he added.

Said then confirmed that Nabil ‘Dunga’, Eric Traore, Abdallah Bakry and Ragab Bakar will remain at the club despite some interest shown by some of their league rivals.

“All four players will happily remain at Pyramids,” he continued.

“However in football there’s no constant that’s why I can’t be 100% sure that they’ll be with us next season but if everything resumes normally they should stay.

“We didn’t receive any official offers for Traore from Al Ahly. All these rumors are completely false and there’s nothing official yet,” he concluded.

Pyramids are currently preparing for the return of the Egyptian Premier League, after a five-month wait, on August 6th.
