- Yasmine El Tohamy - Al Ahly manager Rene Weiler has named his 20-man squad for their clash against Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League.

The Red Devils recently beat Zamalek in the Egyptian Premier League after the latter failed to show up for the game, giving the referee no choice but to award Al Ahly a 2-0 victory.

Weiler has excluded a number of players in the squad including Mahmoud Kahraba, Hossam Ashour, and Mahmoud Wahid.

It’s worth mentioning that the last time Al Ahly faced Mamelodi Sundowns was last year at the same stage of the competition where the Masandawana prevailed after a 5-1 win on aggregate.

Al Ahly will look to avenge their defeat last year as they host Sundowns on Saturday in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-final. Kick-off takes place at 18:00 CLT.
