Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp assured that Mohamed Salah has fully recovered from his ankle injury before their opening Club World Cup game.

Liverpool’s first task at the FIFA Club World Cup is a semi final against Mexican giants Monterrey, before a final or third place playoff against the winner of Flamengo vs Al Hilal.

The Reds have suffered several blows before the start of the tournament as defensive duo Virgil Van Djik and Dejan Lovren suffered short term injuries. While Joel Matip hasn’t still recovered from his knee injury that he endured in late October.

However, Klopp confirmed that Salah, who has been struggling with an ankle injury over the past weeks, is fully recovered and is expected to participate in all of their encounters.

“Absolutely, that’s exactly how it is now,” said Klopp when asked if Salah’s fully recovered.

“It is our life, it is the life of a footballer, you get a knock, but you don’t have time really to deal with it.

“Then everybody thinks, medical department, coach, player, everything is fine, until then you get the next knock in the game, and you don’t say ‘oh, I feel it again’. It just makes it that bit more difficult.

“The boys are so quick, and they have to make all these decisions, what they do in a game is completely instinctive and your body gives you information without coming here into your head, it just stops here in the heart.

“You have something, a knock and it hurts and you can not really move, with the leg like that it is not good. you saw a few finishes from Mo two or three weeks ago and I thought ‘okay, that’s interesting…’.

“So now obviously you can see he’s back, and that helps us a lot,” he concluded.

Despite the injury Salah has been in great form lately having scored four goals and provided one assist in their previous three games across the league and Champions League.
