Zamalek defender Mohamed Abdel-Ghany has denied all rumors suggesting his departure from the club in the near future.

Despite having improved their results under new manager Patrice Carteron with three wins in four games. The club still have their fair share of financial issues which caused the departure of Tunisian right-back Hamdi Nagguez due to unpaid wages.

This issue sparked many departure rumors within the club, with defender Mohamed Abdelghny topping the list of players expected to leave in the near future.

However, the 26-year-old posted on his account a response to these rumors saying that he’s not planning on leaving the White Castle anytime soon.

“This might be the first time that I respond to anything said about me, whether it’s in a positive or negative because I always try to focus on my job,” said Abdelghany.

“There are still two years left in my contract with Zamalek which I plan to respect. Any news about me terminating my contract with the club is completely false.

“Any rumors regarding my departure are untrue and I’m not looking to leave the club anytime soon. Even if I find and opportunity to leave it will be with the club approval,” he added.

Abdel-Ghany made six appearances for Zamalek across all competitions this season, helping them sit fourth on the league table and second in their CAF Champions League group behind TP Mazembe.

Since joining the club in January 2018 from FC Masr Abdel-Ghany has been a really important asset, playing a big role in guiding the club to two Egypt Cup trophies as well as the 2019 CAF Confederation Cup.
