Mamelodi Sundowns manager Pitso Mosimane has commented on their draw against Al Ahly in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League.

The Masandawana were drawn against Cairo giants Al Ahly in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League.

Both sides met at the same stage of the competition last season, where Sundowns defeated Al Ahly 5-1 on aggregate.

Speaking about their draw, Pitso Mosimane recalled Sundowns’ thrashing of Al Ahly last season but says their encounter will be different this year.

“Unbelievable draw. This means whatever Sundowns do in life we follow the same teams again,” Mosimane told reporters.

“This is what happened with Wydad Casablanca. We are getting Wydad all the time in our group.

“Now the story of Al Ahly starts again, same as last year. Same teams different years, different mentality, different moods.

“I believe that Al Ahly first did not know (about) us, and did not respect us. But after the results last year, when we knocked them out in the quarter-finals.

“I think the mood will be different this time, and [they] will prepare well for us. Now it is going to be more difficult for us because they know us.

“But they too are under pressure because they are always favourites and they will be under pressure to beat us. We will see how it goes,” Mosimane concluded

The first leg of the quarter-final is set to take place on 28th February in Egypt as the second leg will be played a week later in South Africa.
