Hind Al Soulia - Riyadh - If Liverpool don't win the Premier League title this season, it will go down in sporting folklore as one of the greatest slip-ups of all time - and certainly the biggest failure in the Premier League era.

Jurgen Klopp's side are 22 points clear of Manchester City who were beaten 2-0 by Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, while third-placed Leicester City were held by Chelsea.

Unbeaten this season and with just a single drawn match, it's a case of when the league title will be coming their way for the first time 30 years.

They showed again at the weekend when they beat Southampton 4-0, with Mohamed Salah on the scoresheet twice, that they are in imperious form.

So, how soon can it happen?

For Liverpool fans looking to party like they did in 1990 (or when they won the Champions League last season), they should turn their calendars to March.

As it stands, both Liverpool and City have played 25 matches each of the 38-game season.

The forthcoming fixture list looks like this:

Liverpool:

February 15, Norwich City (away)

February 24, West Ham (home)

February 29, Watford (away)

March 7, Bournemouth (home)

Manchester City:

February 9, West Ham (home)

February 22, Leicester (away)

March 8, Manchester United (away)

If Liverpool win their next three fixtures, which given their opponents looks extremely likely, they could find themselves with a 31-point gap with 10 matches to play.

However, they wouldn't be able to be crowned champions in February, as City only have two more fixtures this month.

Therefore, the earliest Liverpool could be title winners is on March 7, provided City continue to slip up.

How can Liverpool guarantee the title?

By simply winning six more matches between now and the end of the season. That way it doesn't matter what Manchester City do as they won't be able to catch them.

If they do keep winning, they could be title winners on March 21 when they face Crystal Palace at Anfield even if City win all of their matches between now and then.

They are on course for all sorts of records...

Indeed. Firstly, they could be crowned the earliest winners of a Premier League title - a record currently held by Manchester United who won it on April 14 in 2000-01.

Then they could break the record for biggest title-winning margin which is held by Manchester City with 19 points in 2017-18.

The most wins in a Premier League season is 32, again by Manchester City in 2017-18 and 2018-19. Liverpool have currently won 24.

They have now taken 100 points from the last possible 102.

Is there anything that might get in Liverpool's way?

It doesn't look like it at the moment, although they do have a congested fixture list even with the forthcoming winter break as they are still in the Champions League and FA Cup.

As well as four Premier League matches in February, they also face Shrewsbury in the FA Cup on February 4, and Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on February 18, with the second leg on March 10.

It would take a spectacularly bad run of injuries to key players such as Virgil van Dijk, Salah and Sadio Mane to de-rail them, but even then they have a bench packed with internationals and youngsters ready to step straight in.
