Sevilla have completed the signing of Morocco international striker Youssef En Nesyri from Leganes for a reported €20 million fee.

After showing a lot of promise last season, En Nesyri has only been able to score four times this season in his bid to help Leganes avoid relegation, however he still remained one of the most sought after young strikers in Spain.

En Nesyri returns to Southern Spain across his career, having plied his trade at Malaga before his most recent club of Leganes.

The move makes some sense as, despite not being a Spanish national, Sevilla is as close as En Nesyri can get to his hometown of Fes which may have factored into the decision to move there.

At international level, En Nesyri has been the most prolific striker for Morocco in recent years scoring six times in his 21 caps, including three goals spread across his two Africa Cup of Nations campaigns.

With the fee at a reported €20 million, En Nesyri becomes the second most expensive Moroccan footballer of all time after Medhi Benatia when he made the move from Roma to Bayern Munich in 2014.

En Nesyri has the grandest of stages in which to potentially make his debut as Sevilla’s next game is away at Real Madrid on Saturday 18th of January at 5PM Egyptian time.
