Trent Alexander-Arnold received praise from his team and the opposition after Liverpool's emphatic 4-0 win over Leicester City.

Alexander-Arnold provided two assists for Roberto Firmino and scored the fourth goal of his team as Liverpool crushed second-placed Leicester to open up a 13-point gap at the top.

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers said Alexander-Arnold's passing was 'phenomenal'.

"For me, he plays full back as a midfield player. His range of passing is phenomenal... he was a midfielder as a youngster," Rodgers said.

"His quality, the experiences he has gained, for Jurgen he has been absolutely amazing. Trent is up there and is very much England's number one (right back) and playing consistently at a high level."

Alexander-Arnold started in central midfield but has made his mark in Jurgen Klopp's back line with eight assists in the league this season.

Klopp said Alexander-Arnold was excellent but stayed away from questions on whether the right back was the best in the world in that position.

"I'm not too interested, to be honest. We're not looking for one, let me say it like this," Klopp said.

"He played a really good game, but not a perfect game... it was decisive and helped us a lot. We know how important these crosses are for us, so that's absolutely exceptional.

"But I can't compare because at the moment I watch pretty much only Liverpool games so I don't see the others."

James Milner scored from the penalty spot in the 71st minute at the King Power Stadium to make it 2-0. The move that led to the penalty being awarded came from an Alexander-Arnold’s cross which was handled by Leicester defender Caglar Soyuncu. Firmino scored his second soon after to end any Leicester hopes. Alexander-Arnold capped a perfect day by scoring the fourth in the 78th minute.
