The former Saudi ambassador to Beirut, Abdel Aziz Khoja, explained that he was subjected to three assassination attempts in Lebanon while working there, noting that he “could not accuse any specific party of these operations.”
During an interview with Al-Arabiya channel, Abdelaziz Khoja said: “I was subjected to three assassination attempts in Lebanon..and I cannot accuse a specific party in Lebanon..during my work as an ambassador.”
Turning to the drug file, he said: “For an official to speak about drug smuggling into Saudi Arabia (due to the presence of a market in the Kingdom, according to what the broadcaster quoted a Lebanese official as saying)..a shame.”
The former ambassador pointed out that he “never imagined that relations between the Kingdom and Lebanon would be severed, as the Kingdom provided assistance to Lebanon as a sisterly Arab country,” adding that the Lebanese “were fed up with Hezbollah’s control of Lebanon.”
Abdul Aziz Khoja revealed the volume of aid provided by the Kingdom to Lebanon decades ago, pointing out that since 1990, the Kingdom has provided more than 72 billion dollars in aid to Lebanon.
