A number of students from the Department of Islamic Studies at Taibah University in Madinah intend to file a lawsuit against the university; To demand a change in the title of their major to catch up with job opportunities and complete postgraduate studies.
The students clarified, according to Al-Watan newspaper, that the name stood as an obstacle to them joining jobs and being accepted in postgraduate studies, justice courses, and legal matters, noting that they had submitted an application to the university on this matter, to no avail.
They pointed out that their colleagues in the field of Sharia in other universities find greater job opportunities in addition to the possibility of enrolling in justice courses and graduate studies, noting their intention to go to the Administrative Court to change the name of their specialization to Sharia.
