G20 countries discuss cultural issues led by Saudi Arabia |

Riyadh – On Wednesday, November 4, the Saudi Ministry of Culture will hold the joint meeting of culture ministers in the G20 countries under the slogan “The rise of the cultural economy: a new model”, chaired by Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, and with the participation of leaders of international cultural organizations, in order to exchange ideas and experiences to contribute to the growth Global Cultural Economy.

The ministers of culture in the G20 countries, leaders of international cultural organizations and G20 guests will discuss strengthening the presence of culture and ways to support the global cultural economy, building bridges of cultural communication and openness to different experiences and practices, and promoting inspiring dialogue and interest in upgrading knowledge and improving the quality of life for citizens and residents.

This is the first time that culture ministers meet at a summit on the sidelines of the G20 meetings, at the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the year of its presidency of the group, out of its belief in the importance of culture and its influential role in social and economic development.

The summit’s themes focus on three areas: ways to protect culture, sustainable development, and culture as an engine for economic growth and international exchange.
