An Israeli researcher called on the Saudi leadership to build an open and frank regional alliance with Israel, in an immediate confrontation with Iran.

In an article published in “Israel Hayom” newspaper, today, Thursday, the Israeli researcher and historian Uri Cohen said that the alliance between Riyadh and Tel Aviv must reach the point of Saudi Arabia publicly investing in Israeli military industries companies to benefit from their services in securing their depth and the oil fields inside them from Iran.

He demanded that the regional alliance between Saudi Arabia and Israel be formed on the basis of a comprehensive and joint security and political strategy, calling on Riyadh to stand by Israel as a “wall” in the face of Iran, which threatens the presence of the royal family in Riyadh and clearly and explicitly declares its keenness to eliminate Israel, according to him.

He considered that the regional alliance between Israel and Saudi Arabia is important to confront the mistake of American calculations, claiming that former US President Barack Obama abandoned the ousted Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, which led to the fall of his rule and the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Cohen added that there is a need to launch a direct war against Iran and its tools that practice “terrorism” to force it to stop its expansion. He directed his remarks to the Saudi leadership, saying, “It is time for us to say things clearly to King Salman and the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman: There are not many of us in common in terms of religious, social, and cultural aspects, and on top of that, hostility has prevailed between us for many years, stressing that the emergence of the Iranian threat should push Tel Aviv and Riyadh to unite ranks and confront this danger.

According to Cohen, the alliance between Saudi Arabia and Israel should be a prelude to a more comprehensive alliance that includes other countries in the region, to enhance the ability of “the two countries to deter those who are beating the drums of war” against them.
