Ambassador Al-Muallami stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has consistently supported the Palestinian people to recover their stolen rights, believing in the centrality of the Palestine issue as a priority in its policies, and the right of the State of Palestine to sovereignty over all the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967, including Holy Jerusalem, affirming at the same time adherence to Peace is a strategic choice, and on resolving the Arab-Israeli conflict in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative that the Kingdom presented in 2002.
He pointed out that the Kingdom condemns the ongoing Israeli violations, and affirms its categorical rejection of all invalid and illegal Israeli policies, practices and plans, which aim at settlement, perpetuate apartheid and obliterate the national identity of the Palestinian people, the latest of which was Israel’s decision to build about 5,000 new settlement units in the West Bank.
He reiterated the need for the Security Council to assume its responsibilities, to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression, and to implement the relevant international decisions, including ending the Israeli occupation of all occupied Arab lands, including the Syrian Arab Golan and Lebanese lands.
