Saudi Arabia launches the “Path of Excellence for Scholarships” with 32 specializations

Saudi Arabia launched yesterday the “Path of Excellence for Scholarships”, which is one of the tracks of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ external scholarship program.
Hamad Al Al-Sheikh, the Saudi Minister of Education, explained that it comes in partnership with a number of government sectors, and includes 32 specializations in 70 universities around the world, to achieve comprehensive development goals, in accordance with the country’s vision 2030.
Al-Sheikh affirmed that he meets the needs of government sectors of human cadres, and reflects the role of the Ministry of Education in participation and integration with these sectors, saying: “It is to enable our sons and daughters to join the best international universities, and to study qualitative specializations that respond to the needs of national development in the future, and to provide an opportunity for Saudis to compete. Globally, with his scientific and research capabilities and capabilities ».
Experts in the education sector considered that this path is characterized by high flexibility, and addresses the challenges that were facing previous scholarship programs, as it does not require a specific age to apply, and the extension of specialization is not required for applicants to graduate studies.
Here, Dr. Abd al-Rahman al-Shalash, an academic and writer interested in education affairs, explains that there were many obstacles in some aspects that this new path solves. He continues his speech to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, indicating that in the past, the age was required not to exceed 40 years for scholarship, which was a hindrance for many.
Al-Shalash added that “the condition of extending specialization has prevented many people from achieving their aspirations, whether on scholarships or appointed to universities,” praising the new path that overcomes these obstacles. He explains: “This path addresses some of the problems that were considered major obstacles in the past, and will give more quality returns than before, as it gives those with qualifications and experiences the opportunity to complete their studies.”
Al-Shalash praised the specific specializations offered by the “Path of Excellence for Scholarships” program, stressing their compatibility with the promising opportunities for the country’s 2030 vision.
The advantage of the “Scholarship Excellence Path” is that online application is available throughout the year, and is not limited to a specific period of time. The application started on Sunday, via the “Safeer” platform. The track includes a large number of qualitative majors, such as: international relations, sports, marine sciences, national security, criminal justice, media and communication sciences, and others.
The path includes the presence of new specializations also that contribute to building a prosperous and diversified economy, and support the Kingdom’s promising sectors, such as tourism, tourism management, and hospitality, and build attractive competitiveness to the Kingdom, such as business administration, economy and human resources. It also contributes to building a vibrant society and raising the quality of life, such as sports, sports management, environmental sciences and environmental management, and all of these disciplines seek to create opportunities for what achieves the country’s aspirations in the next stage.
The path sets some conditions, including: that the applicant obtains direct, unconditional admission, adherence to specified majors and universities, that the study is in the country of the main center of the educational institution, and finally, attendance in studies.
