The Saudi Authority for Accredited Valuers (Taqeem) confirmed that 503 establishments have licenses to practice the profession of evaluation in various regions of the Kingdom.
Saleh Al-Zuwaid, Director of Public Relations and Information at the authority, told Al-Eqtisadiah that establishments that have a license to practice the profession in various branches of assessment, indicating that work is underway to establish centers for assessing vehicle damage in five other cities, namely: Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Madinah. Abha, Buraidah, and Al-Ahsa, in order to achieve the goals of this system and achieve better services for the beneficiaries
Al-Zuwaid indicated that the Taqeem system, which was officially launched at the end of 2018 in partnership between the Saudi Authority for Accredited Residents, “Taqeem”, the General Traffic Department and the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency “SAMA”, provided its services until the end of July 2020 to more than one million vehicles through Nine accredited centers in Riyadh, Dammam, Khobar and Jeddah.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Authority for Accredited Residents is working in cooperation with the relevant authorities to develop and prepare special legislation in the sector of precious metals and gemstones, and work is underway to prepare a special qualification program to evaluate this type of assets.
A study conducted by the Authority of Evaluators showed that despite the strong performance in the jewelry market and its large size, the evaluation sector is small and immature, as it needs an official portal and there is no understanding of what and how the official evaluation is.
