The official Saudi TV reported in the early hours of Sunday morning, that the authorities allowed citizens and residents inside the Kingdom to perform prayers in the Grand Mosque in Makkah, for the first time in 7 months.

The General President for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Abd al-Rahman al-Sudais, announced on Saturday the reopening of the doors of the Prophet’s Mosque for visiting and praying in the Holy Kindergarten, known to Muslims as a “piece of heaven.”

According to the website of the Presidency of the Two Holy Sanctuaries, Al-Sudais said in a speech on the occasion of the opening, “I congratulate all Muslims for allowing the opening of the honorable kindergarten and enabling worshipers to pray in it and visit the grave of the Prophet, after the cessation necessitated by the spread of the Corona virus.”

And according to what was reported by the official Saudi Press Agency, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority – today, Sunday – is implementing its plan to organize the entry of visitors and worshipers to the Holy Kindergarten, with the participation of 200 volunteers.

The honorable kindergarten is part of the Prophet’s Mosque, and it got its name from the words of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, “What is between my house and the pulpit of a kindergarten from the gardens of Paradise”, where his house (the room of his wife Aisha bint Abi Bakr) was adjacent to the mosque, and in it, peace be upon him and his companions Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq and Omar bin Al-Khattab.

The area of the kindergarten is estimated at 330 square meters, its length is 22 meters and its width is 15 meters, and it has a great status among Muslims.

Last March, the authorities closed the kindergarten as part of measures to control the spread of the Corona virus.

At the end of last May, the Saudi authorities reopened the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina to worshipers, after two months of closure due to preventive measures, while still suspending entry to the Holy Kindergarten.

On October 4, Saudi Arabia allowed the gradual return of Umrah, after it had been suspended since last March.
