The Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones announced that it has joined the W3C organization, which is concerned with setting global frameworks and standards for the web around the world, and thus the union joined a list of 400 major international companies in the organization such as: Microsoft, Apple, Google, Intel and others.
And signed the agreement to join W3C remotely, in line with the precautionary measures followed.
The CEO of the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones, Mutaib Al-Qeni, stated that this partnership will contribute to achieving ambitions to enrich Arab content in web technologies, and the federation looks forward to the participation of the entities and companies signed with the organization to set web standards in the future.
Al-Qeni added, “We are happy in the union to represent the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the World W3C Organization.
W3C is concerned with setting standards for the World Wide Web, and it was founded by Tim Berners-Lee in 1994 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States of America. The organization’s goals are based on improving interaction between network users and providing unified models between societies to facilitate cooperation and communication among them.
The Union looks forward to signing the agreement with the world organization. To advance this partnership in the educational sector and in web standards. In turn, W3C provides remote training courses on its platform, and seeks to offer these courses through ITU’s initiatives.
For his part, Director of Business Development at W3C International, J. Alan Bird, explained that the organization aims to connect parts of the world in the near future through youth, and the Arab Gulf region is part of this initiative, so it is important to expand to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. “The more we have partners from different backgrounds and cultures, the better the network will be,” Alan said.
The signing of this agreement comes as an extension of the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones’ continuous role in supporting local technical communities, building capabilities and empowering them in various disciplines of advanced technologies.
