The Saudi Space Authority and the Saudi G20 Secretariat are organizing the first meeting of “Space Economy Leaders 20” within the program of international conferences held on the sidelines of the Saudi G20 Presidency to coordinate the efforts of space agencies in the 20 largest economic countries in the world for the peaceful use of outer space.The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Space Authority, Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, stressed the importance of the meeting, which is the first of its kind for leaders of space agencies in the G20, and discusses a large area of ​​investment on which it depends greatly in the future of the global economy, in addition to what the meeting represents, whose idea stemmed from the Kingdom. A platform that paves the way for the first time to integrate the activities of international agencies and their cooperation to maximize the benefits to humanity from the peaceful and scientific uses of space, which confirms the Kingdom’s political, economic and scientific role and its commitment to international development and peace.

With its initiative, the Kingdom seeks to convene a meeting of heads of space agencies in the group countries, to enhance cooperation in the space sector And crystallizing a new path for integration in the space economy path, which represents a new and important horizon in the global economy, and the Kingdom organizes the meeting, which is held virtually via video communication on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, with the participation of the heads of space agencies in the group, the Office of Space Affairs in the United Nations, in addition to the Economic Cooperation Organization And development of the United Nations and a number of organizations, consulting companies, economic entities and experts in the fields of space.
