RIYADH — Bangladesh’s new ambassador to Saudi Arabia has said that the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and its development roadmap drawn up by the Saudi government under the guidance of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman offers Bangladesh new areas of engagements and cooperation such as manpower, trade, investment, education, and agriculture.

Ambassador Mohammad Javed Patwary, who assumed the charge on Aug. 22, said he will continue to strive for full utilization of all potential and untapped areas of collaboration.

After taking up his assignment, Ambassador Patwary thanked and expressed his deep gratitude to the Saudi leadership for its generous and continued supports to Bangladesh.

The ambassador also thanked Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for appointing him as the ambassador of Bangladesh to Saudi Arabia.

Seeking to strengthen bilateral relations, Ambassador Patwary said that the two friendly countries will continue to work more closely with the issues of mutual interests bilaterally, regional and globally on the basis of Muslim fraternity and Islamic values.

Based on the close cooperation and understanding, the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries will be strengthened in the days ahead, the ambassador reiterated.

The envoy said he is seeking to establish Bangladesh as the favored destination for Saudi investments and also as a reliable brand of sourcing skilled and semi-skilled workers in the realization of the Saudi Vision 2030 and Bangladesh Vision 2041.

Ambassador Patwary has served in four United Nations peacekeeping missions, bagging a UN medal.

Ambassador Patwary has also worked as the Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP). He served in Bangladesh Police for 35 years with dignity and competency.

Ambassador Patwary received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Welfare from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He also earned his post-graduate degree in “Criminal Justice and Police Management” from the University of Leicester, the United Kingdom, and a Ph.D. on “Combating Terrorism in Bangladesh: Challenges and Prospects” from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh.

His gallantry and bravery in counterterrorism won great admiration and he was awarded Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) two times, the highest award for police officers.
