PARIS — Despite differences in our cultures and languages, we share our belief that education is everyone’s right, and that preserving heritage means securing the future, and innovation and science can only lead us out of this pandemic, said Princess Haifa Al-Muqrin, Saudi Arabia’s permanent representative to UNESCO, during the opening of 209th session of the Executive Council of the UNESCO on Thursday.

Princess Haifa is joined by a Saudi cultural team comprising 26 male and female experts, representing all relevant sectors in the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia’s participation in the UNESCO’s executive council meeting comes as part of the continued efforts made by Prince Badr Bin Abdullah Bin Farhan, the Minister of Culture and President of the National Committee for Education, Science and Culture to support culture, education and science sectors.

Princess Haifa in her speech stressed that changes can only be brought about by combined joint efforts at the global level, which in turn will help achieve common goals to promote peace, build cultural bridges between peoples, and empower societies around the world to ensure a better future.

Princess Haifa said that Saudi Arabia has always supported African countries and it is ready to share its experiences at various UNESCO forums.
