DHAHRAN — King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) rose to fourth place globally worldwide in the number of patents among universities for the year 2019, according to the annual ranking of the US National Academy of Inventors and Intellectual Property Owners.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman, Minister of Energy and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the KFUPM said that the achievement represents a pride for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, extending thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, for their great support to education and their keenness to see Saudi universities keep pace with the highest international standards in the fields of education, research, innovation, development and community service.
