MUSCAT — Oman announced 22 coronavirus cases, all citizens, over the last 24 hours, taking the total number of infections in the Sultanate to 131, Oman News Agency reported on Friday citing a statement the Ministry of Health.

Out of the total 22 new cases, 10 were in contact with the previously announced cases, 8 are linked to travel, and four are currently under epidemiological investigation.

Meanwhile, 23 patents have completely recovered following treatment and care, the ministry statement added.

The ministry called on everyone to fully commit to self-isolation measures in line with the guidelines announced by the authorities in the country.

It also urged all citizens and residents to wash their hands with water and soap and avoid touching face, mouth and nose. Additionally, it asked them to follow the healthy habits while sneezing and coughing, strictly abide by social distancing rules stipulated by the concerned authorities and not leave home except for absolute necessities.
