"If the enemies once again launch military or terrorist attacks, it is the armed forces of the Islamic Republic and the Iranian nation that will determine the time and conditions for their end," Khamenei said in a statement carried by state-run broadcaster IRIB.

The statement followed a meeting between Khamenei and senior Iranian military officials, according to the broadcaster.

During the meeting, Khamenei instructed military commanders to prepare an "immediate and effective response, without geographical restrictions to any potential enemy threat."

He also ordered an update to Iran's list of potential targets to ensure that all US and Israeli assets remained "within the armed forces' reach," the statement added.

His warning followed remarks earlier Saturday by Iranian army spokesperson Mohammad Akraminia, who said any renewed war would "engulf a much wider area" if US President Donald launched another military campaign in the region alongside Israel.

Akraminia warned against what he described as another military "adventure" by Washington and Israel, signaling the possibility of a broader confrontation if hostilities resumed.

Tensions across the Middle East have remained high since the United States and Israel launched attacks against Iran on Feb. 28, prompting Iranian retaliation across the region.

Despite subsequent diplomatic efforts and a memorandum signed by Washington and Tehran in June, tensions have persisted over regional security arrangements and navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
