Governor Ghassan Al-Sayyed Ahmad made the appeal during talks with UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix, according to the Quneitra Governorate.

The meeting focused on security developments in the province, UNDOF's responsibilities and the impact of Israeli military activities on civilians.

Ahmad stressed the importance of documenting Israeli violations in accordance with UNDOF's mandate, saying such efforts could help protect residents and mitigate the consequences of military activities on local communities.

The talks came amid continued Israeli incursions into Quneitra, including raids, searches, detentions and the establishment of temporary military checkpoints.

A UN report issued on September 23 documented continued violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement between Syria and Israel, including Israeli military presence and activities within the designated area of separation.

According to the report, Israeli forces remained stationed at 11 positions on the Syrian side of the area of separation as of August 12.

Established in 1974, UNDOF is responsible for monitoring the ceasefire and disengagement arrangements between Syrian and Israeli forces.

The UN Security Council extended the force's mandate in June through December 31, 2026.

Syria has repeatedly demanded that Israel withdraw from Syrian territory, respect the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and uphold the country's sovereignty.
