Hind Al Soulia - Riyadh - CAIRO — A bus crash in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula on Wednesday killed 16 people and injured 28 others, the country’s health ministry reported. Ten Jordanians were among the dead, according to Jordanian state television.
“Ten Jordanians died after a passenger bus overturned on the Dahab-Nuweiba road in Egypt’s South Sinai governorate,” Jordan’s official Al-Mamlaka channel stated. The bus was carrying 43 people in total, including 22 Jordanians.
Egypt's Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said 20 ambulances rushed to the scene of the accident, which occurred on the road between the popular tourist towns of Dahab and Nuweiba on South Sinai’s eastern coast.
Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar ordered medical facilities to raise their level of preparedness and provide the injured with necessary medical care, medicines and supplies.
