Hind Al Soulia - Riyadh - KYIV — At least 38 people were killed and 20 others injured following a Russian strike and subsequent explosions in the village of Myla in Ukraine’s Kyiv region, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Sunday.
“Unfortunately, it is known that 38 people were killed by the strike and subsequent detonation,” Zelenskyy said in a statement.
Two children were among those injured, while search and rescue operations were continuing for four people who remained missing, he said.
Zelenskyy did not provide further details on the target of the strike or what caused the subsequent detonation.
The Ukrainian president said Russia had launched nearly 2,000 attack drones, more than 1,600 guided aerial bombs and 31 missiles against Ukraine over the past week.
He said the missiles included North Korean ballistic missiles.
Zelenskyy also warned of a growing threat from Russian jet-powered drones, saying Ukraine was working on ways to counter the increasing scale and changing nature of Russian aerial attacks.
