KINSHASA, May 17 — The Ebola strain in the latest outbreak in DR Congo has a “very high lethality rate”, and there is no vaccine or treatment available for it, Health Minister Samuel-Roger Kamba said Saturday.
“The Bundibugyo strain has no vaccine, no specific treatment,” Kamba told a press briefing in Kinshasa, adding: “This strain has a very high lethality rate which can reach 50 per cent.”
The latest outbreak has already caused 80 deaths, authorities said earlier Saturday. — AFP
