Hind Al Soulia - Riyadh - DOHA — Qatar said Friday that no US combat or logistical operations targeting Iran were launched from Al Udeid Air Base, rejecting Iranian claims amid ongoing regional tensions.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Deputy Chief of Staff for Joint Operations Shayeq Misfer Al-Hajri said no US elements at the base participated in operations against Iran.
“There were no US combat or logistical elements at Al Udeid Base involved in operations against Iran,” he said.
Separately, Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari dismissed Iranian allegations that Qatar had provided evidence of US military use of its territory.
He described the claims as “untrue,” adding that such statements were intended to justify Iranian attacks on Qatar.
Al-Ansari said the damage to the energy sector from recent strikes was significant, stressing that Qatar does not use energy as a political tool.
The interview included exclusive footage showing debris from Iranian ballistic missiles falling in residential areas, as well as documentation of an attack on the Ras Laffan power facility.
Despite the scale of the attacks, Al-Hajri said Qatari air defenses successfully intercepted more than 90% of incoming threats.
The statements come days after the United States and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire brokered by Pakistan, aimed at paving the way for a broader agreement to end the conflict.
According to compiled data, Iran launched thousands of missiles and drones across multiple countries in the region over the past weeks, with attacks continuing into the early days of the truce.
