Saying that the US has "eliminated everything there is to eliminate" in Iran, Trump said at an event in Memphis in the southern US state of Tennessee: "We're systematically dismantling the regime's ability to threaten America. They're not threatening us anymore."

"We've had very good discussions, very, very good discussions," he said about reported talks between the US and Iran, claiming that Tehran warns to settle and "we're going to get it done."

Tehran has denied that talks are taking place.
Trump visited Memphis on Monday to tout his administration's crime task force there, telling those gathered at the event he's "stopped crime" in the city.

Though Trump arrived in Tennessee after ordering a "temporary" halt to planned strikes on Iranian power plants, American forces are still embroiled in the sprawling regional conflict.

Trump warned that now Iran has "one more opportunity to end its threats to America and our allies, and we hope they take it."

Once a deal is reached, Trump said that both the US and the entire world "will soon be much safer and will be a much more secure planet."

Saying that the US was "planning tomorrow on shooting down some of their power plants," Trump affirmed that they will "hold that up," referring to a five-day pause on energy facilities announced earlier Monday.

"Hopefully we won't have to do it, and hopefully we can make a deal that's good for all of us, including the Middle Eastern allies that have been very good to us, including Israel, that's been a great partner in this fight," he said.

Trump claimed that the deal would be good for everybody, "as good as if we went all the way and annihilated" Iran, in the president’s words.

While in Memphis, Trump took a surprise tour of Elvis Presley's Graceland on Monday.

The late singer's stately home, with its stone facade and white columned entrance, is just a few miles from the site of the roundtable meeting, which was also attended by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Attorney General Pam Bondi. Graceland opened as a museum and tourist attraction in 1982 as a tribute to Presley, the singer and actor who died in August 1977 at age 42.

Trump's side trip to the top tourist attraction came as thousands of Americans across the country are wading through long lines at security checkpoints at airports, where the president sent federal immigration officers to assist the Transportation Security Administration during an ongoing Homeland Security shutdown. — Agencies
