Hind Al Soulia - Riyadh - WASHINGTON — Iranian missile attacks targeting the United States and its allies have dropped by about 90% since Washington and Tel Aviv launched their military operations against Iran last weekend, the White House said Friday.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the decline occurred over the past six days following the start of joint US-Israeli strikes.
“Their retaliatory ballistic missile strikes against the United States and our allies in the region have decreased 90% just over the course of the last six days,” Leavitt said during an interview with Fox News.
Regional tensions have surged since the United States and Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran on Feb. 28.
Iran has responded with waves of drone and missile strikes targeting US bases, diplomatic facilities and military personnel across the Middle East, as well as several Israeli cities. At least six US service members have been killed since the escalation began.

Leavitt also confirmed that Donald Trump will travel Saturday to Dover Air Force Base to attend the dignified transfer ceremony for the remains of the fallen service members.
Asked about rising oil prices triggered by the regional conflict, Leavitt said the focus should remain on the immediate goals of the US military operation, known as Operation Epic Fury.
She said the operation aims to eliminate the threat posed by Iran’s leadership and missile capabilities, adding that such outcomes would benefit global energy markets in the long term.
Trump has previously rejected any negotiated settlement that falls short of Iran’s “unconditional surrender,” insisting that Washington must play a role in determining the country’s future leadership.
Leavitt said the president would consider the mission complete when Iran can no longer threaten the United States, its troops or personnel in the Middle East.
