PETALING JAYA, Oct 17 — World mixed doubles champions Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei advanced to the Denmark Open semi-finals after overcoming fellow Malaysians Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai today.
As reported by Free Malaysia Today, the world No. 4 duo triumphed 21-17, 21-11 in just 38 minutes at Arena Fyn in Odense, Denmark, extending their head-to-head advantage to five wins in eight meetings.
Chen and Toh will next meet either China’s top-ranked pair Jiang Zhen Bang and Wei Ya Xin or Denmark’s Mathias Christensen and Alexandra Boje for a place in the final.
For Goh and Lai, the defeat added to a challenging season in which they have yet to reach a final, managing only two semi-final and nine quarter-final appearances so far.
