KOTA BHARU, Oct 11 — The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) will announce the national contingent’s medal tally target for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand in November.

KBS deputy secretary-general (management), Abdullah Hassan said the target would be announced after the final meeting held in November, a month before the biennial games take place in December.

“At the moment we have not set any targets because there are still negotiations on the events to be contested in Thailand. When the full list of sports is finalised, then we will set the medal collection target for the athletes and national contingent.

“However, we have identified several sporting events that have the potential to contribute medals such as badminton, hockey and several other events,” he told reporters after officiating the Kelantan State Level National Sports Day Opening Ceremony, here today.
