NEW YORK, June 21 — Mahmoud Khalil, a leader of US pro-Palestinian campus protests, was released from a federal detention centre yesterday, according to news footage.
The former Columbia University student was seen leaving the immigration detention centre in Jena, Louisiana wearing a Palestinian keffiyeh scarf, hours after a federal judge ordered his release after more than three months in custody. — AFP
