Hind Al Soulia - Riyadh - MANILA — Tropical Storm Enteng and severe monsoon rains have killed 10 people and displaced thousands across the Philippines, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Tuesday.

The storm has impacted 147,024 individuals across multiple regions, including Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and the National Capital Region, with more than 38,000 people taking refuge in 218 evacuation centers.

The hardest-hit areas include Calabarzon, with seven reported fatalities, Central Visayas with two, and one in Western Visayas, according to the Philippine News Agency.

Allen, in Northern Samar province, has declared a state of calamity due to widespread damage, as nearly 80-90% of the town's population was displaced by floods.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has intensified disaster response efforts, coordinating with local government units to provide assistance.

The DSWD has distributed over 140,000 family food packs and maintains a stock of more than 1.73 million, ensuring continued support for affected communities. — Agencies
