On an unknown date, but between 2019 and 2021, a group of naturalists documented a fierce battle between a flock of orca whales nicknamed the “Deepthroat” that attacked the largest creatures of the earth, the “blue whale”.

Killer orca whales pounced on the blue whale, some of it from several areas, strangling and then devouring it, in a phenomenon that is rare to this day to be monitored.. Scientists have not recorded such mass attacks, which are closer to (assassinations) only 3 times.

The killer whale flocks consisted of a total of 50 and 75 killer whales during the attacks carried out in the form of circles.

According to the study published in the scientific journal “Marine Mammal Science”, the attacks seemed very brutal, as the orca jumped on the head of the blue whale, pulled it into the depths of the water, and devoured part of its tongue while it was alive.

According to an article published in the “Live Science” magazine, stopping the blue whale for hunters of whales or even orca whales, “is like trying to stop a train” because of its endurance and speed, but these whales found a solution to attack it, as they adopted a strategy based on rapid attacks that target the fins and the head. And stay away from the tail, because it’s very strong.
