“Reuters” agency quoted informed sources as saying some of the content of Lebanon’s response message to the Kuwaiti initiative, which was conveyed last week by the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister to Lebanese officials.
The sources said, according to “Reuters”, that “the Lebanese government is telling the Gulf countries that Lebanon will not be a starting point for moves that affect the Arab countries,” and that the government is “committed, in word and deed, to the policy of disassociation.”
The sources indicated that “Lebanon will inform the Gulf countries that it will strengthen measures to prevent drug smuggling.”
It is noteworthy that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah Bou Habib, will convey the Lebanese response to Kuwait on the 29th to present it to the Arab foreign ministers.
