The United States condemned the Houthi seizure, last Sunday, of a cargo ship carrying the UAE flag off the Yemeni coast of Hodeidah.
In a statement, US State Department spokesman Ned Price said: “This brutal Houthi action contradicts freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, and threatens international trade and regional security.” He added, “These Houthi actions come at a time when all parties must de-escalate and return to inclusive political talks.”
