FC Barcelona said today, Thursday, that its midfielder Philippe Coutinho, defender Sergino Dest and winger Eb Samad Zalzouli have been infected with the Corona virus.

Barcelona is suffering from an outbreak of the rapidly spreading virus, and is expected to miss its squad in its next match, next Sunday, against Real Mallorca, with its players Othman Dembele and Samuel Umtiti.

Tests this week also revealed that Clement Lenglet, Dani Alves, Jordi Alba and Alejandro Balde were infected.

“The players, Sergino Dest, Coutinho and Abdel-Samad El-Zalzouli, have tested positive,” Barcelona said in a statement. “These players are in good health and are subject to self-isolation at home, and the relevant authorities have been informed of these cases.”

Barcelona is ranked seventh among the Spanish league teams with 28 points from 18 matches.

Real Madrid, the leaders, also suffers from a number of infections in its ranks, including Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and Marcelo.
