His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin , Deputy Ruler of , Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, received yesterday morning Gotabaya Rajapaksa, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, at the headquarters of “Expo 2020 Dubai”. The meeting dealt with bilateral relations between the UAE and the Republic of Sri Lanka, and ways to develop it in all fields, to achieve the aspirations of the two friendly countries and peoples.

His Highness, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, welcomed the guest president, stressing the UAE’s keenness to strengthen cooperation. With various countries and peoples in various economic, cultural, tourism and other fields, in proportion to the friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries, and the two sides looked forward to pushing forward the partnership paths in various major sectors.

For his part, the Sri Lankan President congratulated the UAE on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Union, stressing his country’s keenness to develop its cooperation with the UAE in various fields, in a way that supports sustainable development efforts and meets the aspirations of construction in the two countries, praising the UAE’s keenness to build bridges of cooperation with various The peoples of the world, and their leadership’s keenness to support and develop bilateral relations to serve the interests of countries and peoples.

The meeting was attended by Reem Al Hashimi, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director-General of Expo 2020 Dubai, Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of State Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, and Chairman and CEO of DP World Group Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem.
